RACE FOR THE CURE, APRIL 2007

Saturday, April 7th, I will be participating in the Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure. I am a two year survivor and still cancer free. I will be running this year in honor of Earlene Johnson, Faye White, Jeanne Duke, Lisa Jones, Dollie Smith and myself. All of us are cancer survivors. I will be posting a gallery each year when I do the Race for the Cure to help to keep the awareness of this disease going and to help find a cure. No woman or man should ever have to deal with this. First they take your femininity away by removing your breasts, then they take you as close to death as you can get. It is a tough ride but I made it through. Now, I am fighting for others and this gallery portrays my fight as well as others that are taking part in the race. Pray for those who must endure the pain and agony of this dreadful disease and their loved ones as they support them.

Beautiful site. I will be attending the Support Connection annual gala this Friday. Founded by my friend in memory of his lovely wife, the work this organization and those like it (yours of course) is immeasurable. Hope rules. God bless you all.

Cindi - thank you so much for this gallery! I wish I could have been at the race with you guys. I was there for the last two, but God had other plans for me this year...he brought me through breast cancer four years ago...praise Him...and my first grandbaby is due today (we're still waiting for him to make his appearance). I was terrified of being downtown yesterday with no easy/fast way to get to the hospital if Ashley went into labor. I can hardly wait for next year's race...and we'll have an extra little supporter to push in a stroller. God willing, we'll all be walking this Race together for the next fifty years! I love you, Cindi!!! Jeff and the kids send their love, too.
