This man lives in the park with his dog. His dog actually eats better than he does most days and he always feeds the dog first. Both had a decent meal today but what about tomorrow?

Until we as a society decide these people have value,this will remain a common sight.Our governments need to step up to the plate in terms of treating mental illness which touches the majority of the homeless.These people for the most part have not chosen this way of living but have been abandoned by family(and I don't necessarily blame the families who can't cope with the constant issues) and fall through the gap of social agencies. I will step off my soap box now...sorry....this just touches a chord with me.

Well done, Cindi ... sad ... the underbelly of society prevalent in every city in the US (and, with the economy going downhill fast, this scene may well be multiplied many times over ... let's hope not). Voted

Nice shot of real life. Sometimes people who live this way do so because this is how they want to live--we have about 200 under the I-10 overpass right now in New Orleans and they do not want to be corralled into a house or apartment. His dog is probably very happy, too.
