PINK DAY - 2ND TRY...1ST TIME A RED X

Today I'll be attending the closing ceremonies for the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk for the Cure. I'm meeting up with fellow Pbaser, Ronnie Broom. This is a ceremony sure to bring on the tears...so I will do my best in capturing the afternoon. This pin was sent to me by my dear friend, Jola Dziubinska, another Pbaser. Jola, I'm wearing this proudly and with a lot of love. Thank you and thanks to all of you whose prayers and support have kept me strong and healthy without any reoccurance. The 3-Day Walk is 60 miles in 3 days and all that are walking hold a special place in my heart. It is so important to find a cure for breast cancer so that no other woman has to endure the pain, anguish, and the fear that comes with cancer. Also, living with the feeling of being damaged goods or less than a woman comes with it if you have had a mastectomy or in my case, both breasts removed. I have my faith so that is what has gotten me through along with prayers and support from wonderful friends and family. However, there is still that stigma that is associated with cancer that I have to deal with daily and the scars will always be there. A reminder to me for the rest of my life but also a reminder of how wonderful God was to bring me through it, and to see the beauty now of the simple things in life and giving me a second chance at life which I am so loving. How much that we take for granted and what is truly important in life are the two things I have learned. So, good did come out of this and will continue to do so. So, if you know someone who has endured or is going through treatment right now, understand that they will be different, not in a bad way but in a good way. And, please accept and love them unconditionally. You don't know how much this will touch them.
