DEATH OF A CHILD

Watauga, TX

This young lady was killed by a drunk driver about 3 months ago. She died along with her best friend when the car they were riding in was hit broadside. I drive past this spot just about everyday and my heart and prayers go out to her family. To lose a child is something no parent should ever have to endure, especially one that is so tragic. If you drink, don't drive!

I think, that for me, this is the worst. No one should bury their child...yet.

So sad...I can relate to that having lost my brother in a similar situation...
Don't drink & drive.... EVER!!

Powerful image. So sad we still have a problem with these drinking drivers. Seems simple, Tougher laws and stop the alcohol industry from lobbying congress.

This type of thing happens far too often, when will people learn?
Hopefully by posting this image, it will reminded us to not to let their friends and loved ones get behind the wheel after having a few. This just breaks my heart.

Great tribute... This is so sad and I seem to recall seeing this on the news. There seems to be a whole lot of these out and around the DFW area. I pass one daily in Carrollton that has a cross and Dad on it.

We should all stop and think more of the effects of our actions upon others. A truly heartrending image, as so it should be Cindi.

What a poignant image, and thanks for the message.

The road death toll in the UK is equivalent to a "9/11 Twin Towers" EVERY YEAR!! Strange that we don't have a war for that cause!

So sad, and happens far too often. The harsh contrast in the image is exactly right to emphasise the stark reality of the tragedy it represents.

Heartbreaking. We buried a friend of 20+ years last Friday...killed by a drunk driver. It's so painful I can hardly stand it. Real life ain't always pretty and it damn sure is never fair. Thanks, Cindi, for calling attention to this.

That is heart breaking. All drunkendrivers should be put in jail.

Hi Cindi,
This is so sad and it happens all the time. I really love your picture and the treatment you used on it. \/ My nephew is doing a book on roadside memorials in Michigan (he lost a father and a sister).
