TRYING TO FIND CANS TO GET MONEY TO EAT

Fort Worth, TX

This is Charlie. He refuses any kind of charity and prefers to gather cans to earn a few dollars in order to eat. He's homeless but still has some pride left.

Thank you Cindi for exposing us to these human beings. We are all only one step away from being right beside them. You even know their names most of the time, which brings even more realism to the table.

Good for him. This series is unsettling and truthful.

Humbling. After posting a gallery from a weekend of fun to realize how lucky we truly are to be able to have an adventure that we take for granted. Thanks for putting life back in perspective.

You know, this really makes me stop and think about what a truly wonderful life I have. It can all be taken away from us so quickly. I think I am going to go give Jeff and the girls a big hug and let them know how important they are to me, and how much a treasure our family!

I know a young woman who is pretty, smart, hard working--or was. She is about 5' 1". She was hit by a Hummer in a Wal-mart parking lot. Driver was uninsured, no money. She hasn't been able to work for nearly 2 years. Except for the fact that she has parents who can pay her mortgage--for now--she would be homeless. So--never think that Charlie's life couldn't become yours. In a flash, not of the camera, but life. Thank you, Cindi, for so reminding us.
