THURSDAY'S TRANSGLOBAL CHALLENGE - ONE YEAR OLDER AND WISER

Fort Worth, TX

Time to hang up the old shoes and put new ones on for another year of Thursday Challenges. This past year was fun and we are all wiser from our experiences on the Thursday's Challenge. Thanks, Bev and Lee for a year of fun and looking forward to another one.

Okay, this may mean that there is drug location, due to a couple of the comments....didn't know that. I'm not into that scene so didn't have a clue. Just saw these hanging on the wire and took the shot.

CANON REBEL EOS XTi

It's interesting to read and know about the drug thingy. By itself, it's a great challenge entry and I really like what you said about us getting wiser from the experience on pbase. Well seen and thought, Cindi.

Fantastic interpretation for the challenge. Well done, Cindi.

great image... and new and intresting factoid... which come to think of it is why there's a pair hung up by the downtown hotel!
Jannik Lindquist08-Dec-2006 15:17
Copenhagen is another city where this is a common sight. Great shot!

I always thought that the shoes over the wires were a gang related thing...thanks for bringing it to our attention. Cool shot just the same Cindi!

Who'd have thought a pair of old boots could mean so much!
LOL at Brian :-)
Stephen Ware07-Dec-2006 23:05
Cleverly well done.
Bill Warren07-Dec-2006 22:47
So that's what these hanging shoes mean.

Laughing at Brian!! Photographers must wear out more shoes - Keep an extra pair on hand just in case.

Well now we are all wiser...imagine that !! Oh i'm way behind the times...right where i want to be :>) Cheers, Cindi.

Well...Coleen was a LEO and she tells me that more drug busts were made around this little sign than anything else during her career. OK... to those drug dealers I have to quote one of my favorite funny guys..."Here's your SIGN!"

I think I'd rather just put one of those over the shoulder bill boards on that says "Get your Crack right here!" and keep my dang shoes on! But I guess I'm just funny like that...
Jola Dziubinska07-Dec-2006 20:32
Very clever idea, fantastic capture, Cindi.
Guest 07-Dec-2006 20:18
Intriguing shot, Cindi! Even more so given the preceding comments ... so the next time I see a bra hanging from the wire I'll know it was the scene of a drug bust!
Guest 07-Dec-2006 20:18
These shoes were still looking decent, Cindi! Get a ladder!
Nicki Thurgar07-Dec-2006 20:04
Wow, well I never knew about the drugs thing....
Well seen, great capture! :o)

Great shot, Cindi! Thursday's Transglobal Challenge makes a photographer use his/her imagination. That is a must for a good photographer. I think Thursday's Challenge is great and enjoy all the pics people put up for that!

Very nice image, Cindi and good advice. To Danny Barton--it is true, tennis shoes hung over the power lines are a sign of drug locations.
Dan Chusid07-Dec-2006 15:09
Crack out the new ones and have a go at next year's
onslaught of challenges.
I'm thinking this will work nicely in the
"Things That Are Over My Head" challenge.
; )

You will have to clue me in on this Thursday challenge thing.

I've never understood why people do this. I saw a COPs show one time that said it was a sign that drugs were for sale. That's stupid! "Oh yeah, let me toss my shoes up over this line so all the heat knows I'm standing here barefoot, dealing dope." Cops crack me up!
Wei O'Connell07-Dec-2006 13:11
Nicely done. Very clever entry, Cindi.
Guest 07-Dec-2006 12:48
