THE CRASH

Fort Worth, TX

Okay, here's the scoop on this one. I had just turned onto this street which is right around the corner from my house to head to work. This vehicle was traveling the opposite direction when the driver lost control, went down into a ditch and took out two fences of two other houses. Then, it looked like he gained control again because he was back on the road. Then, just as quickly, he lost it again and was going back into the ditch when his vehicle flipped, went airbound and landed through this fence upside down. Myself and two other drivers pulled over, got out and the guy driving was crawling through the passenger side window. No one was hurt seriously, thank God! I don't know if he fell asleep at the wheel, talking on the phone or what. We did call 911 and the police were there pretty quickly.

I had my camera in my lap the entire time it was happening but never thought once to pick it up to catch the action. I was just stunned watching this and worried about the people in the car. After we knew no one was hurt I took the top shot and I was still visibly shaking so the shot isn't as clear as I would like it. The bottom shot is a shot of the other two fences he took out before the car went airbound. So, this day started out pretty eventful. I don't ever want to witness something like that again...it nearly scared the life out of me.

WOW! Doesn't sound like his day. Glad to hear no one was hurt, hope he has plenty of insurance. Terrific journalistic shots.

Good work, Cindi! I'm thankful he didn't come in your direction. Under the circumstances, these shots show great presence of mind. So, in the end ... did you have a nice day?

Holy Moley!!! That had to be better for a wake up rush than a large Starbucks! You know me...I'm sorry I missed it. Whew! What a ride that must have been. LOL! Whatever it was that caused it...I bet he don't do it again. VOTE!

Oh my goodness, how awful Cindi! I can imagine how shaken you must have been.
Good photojournalism!
