VIEW OF THE LADIES ON THE 4TH OF JULY

Quitman, TX

This was our view when looking at an old historic home today while the Daughters of the American Revolution gave a program. These ladies (and that's my sister, the second from the left) do all kinds of things for the area and the people. Today, to celebrate the 4th, they read the Declaration of Independence and gave the history on each one of the signers. Was very interesting and I learned a thing or two. They put on a free festival with free food and fun for the whole family. All donations were given to a charity.

Nice tradition and I like the way they are dressed up. Sepia was a good choice.

That's a nice tradition, history has to be liven up a bit. V

Independence is what it's all about! Great capture of these lovely ladies (especially your sister ~ I'd recognize her anywhere)! :)

like your processing in sepia, and your sister jumps out of the "daughters" crowd

Very tradional in B&W!

Wow, except for the smiles and their teeth showing, this could have been taken way back then. Before the 1900's it was considered "vulgar" to show your teeth.
