DUST STORM

Fort Worth, TX

A dust storm rolled into town this afternoon from West Texas. I'm sure what we had doesn't compare to the dust blowing out west. But, it did darken the sky and put out the sun about 2 minutes after I took this shot.

Though it looks good I know how awfully damaging they can be to farmlands

Great capture of this scene, Cindi! \/ In the movie Bound for Glory (biography of Woody Guthrie) he and his family were in a really scary dust storm in Texas. That was awful just to watch!

Good catch of this phenomenon, Cindi.
Dust storms from the north reach us occasionally and turn the sky dark red.

I have vivid memories of dust storms from when I lived in El Paso.

The photo shows the power of the dust storm.

A very strong shot that reminds me of a prison for some reason.

That is quite the shot, Cindi! I wouldn't have guessed a dust storm, but have never really seen one. It certainly gave you the opportunity for a great photo. V

Very effective.

We don't have them in Britain of course, but I remember one morning many years ago when the parked cars were all covered in a strange dust. So happens that we had some rain in the night which included sand all the way from North Africa!
