WADING IN THE GREAT SALT LAKE

SLC, UT

Nothing but brine can live in this lake as it is so salty. Along the shoreline there were a lot of dead gulls or what was left of dead gulls. And, a lot of flies on the sand. I didn't go barefoot anywhere around there. But, the sunset was beautiful and I got a lot of pics. I'll be posting one or two here and the rest in my sunset gallery.

btw...you can just about walk across the lake without ever getting your head wet. Not deep at all.

I was passing through there in 1959. I do remember trying to swim in that buoyant water and showering off by the lake to get rid of the salt or you would turn white when it dried.
This picture is fabulous especially with the two figures wading in the water.

Lovely scene. The salt is good for the feet while you're in the water, isn't it?
