ARCHITECTURE IN THE SHAPE OF A HAT

Grapevine, TX

Went to a movie yesterday with Mickayla. This was one scene in it. The movie was Mr. Poppers Penguins. But, I like to call it Mr. Poppers Pooping Penguins. Wasn't impressed. One reason I don't go to movies. The stuff you buy there is outrageous. I spent $18 on 2 cokes, one candy and one small popcorn! Unbelieveable! So, I guess I won't be going to the movies again for at least another 10 years. :)

What seems like a million years ago a friend of ours owned a double decker rep-cinema in Montreal. Stephen played things like Gone With Wind in the lower larger theatre to pay the rent and "Arty" things in the smaller upper section. The immediate social group not only got to go to the movies for free, but so long as you retained your containers, soft drinks and pop corn were on the house as well. However if one of your containers disappeared you had to buy a new one as that was the expense. Can't imagine things have changed much.

I dropped out of that leisure a long time ago, people don't respect others any more. luckely there are dvds

I totally agree. I have rented so many DVDs of movies and regretted spending the $2.50 for them. AND the advantage of the DVD? You can stop it whenever you want for a kitchen or bio break!

Concessions is how they make their money, and they're getting none of mine. Cool shot. Nice take on the challenge.

Cool hat!!!
We went to the movies yesterday as well. Spent ~ $5.50 on lots of different candies, a large Cracker Jack & Flamin' Hot Cheetos at the little shop next door to the theater! I also brought my own sodas from home!

Love the hat, brought back some great memories seeing this! Agree re costs going to the cinema, we avoid buying food or drink for that reason.
