MY RIDE AND THE RED HILL

Lake Hawkins, TX

The red dirt in East Texas is beautiful. I got up early, ran out to the lake and took this. After I returned to my sister's house, the Jeep wouldn't start. Funny how batteries just give up the ghost just like that.

We went to Walmart and got a new battery installed and I got on my way later this afternoon. I'm home now and doing laundry. Glad that it was just the battery that was bad.

Ah, now I know what is meant when I hear references to red dirt in Texas! I didn't think red dirt literally meant red dirt. This photo would make a nice advertisement for Jeep (minus the story of the failed battery)! Thankfully it was just a simple battery swap.

Funny how batteries do that. We just went through this with my husbands truck, last week. The heat in Texas lowers their life too. I love this colorful photo!

Glad it was a small problem like a battery, new cars seem to have so much electronics they tend to drain batteries faster.

I was wondering anyway, because you criss-cross Texas like a tornado, the battery needed recharge:))! You were lucky to have stores open on sundays, here....nada!
