STRIKE ON THE LANDSCAPE

Fort Worth, TX

A storm came through and I caught this shot. Wasn't very clear and it was raining pretty hard and I know I jumped when it hit as it was loud. So, I tweaked it a bit to get rid of some of the noise. I got the first shot of this and then it came through again brighter as it hit.

Excellent shot - I love thunder & lighting but we don't get enough storms here in the UK....beautifully captured, love the heavy processing, really conveys the power and drama of the storm

Great shot under the circumstances.We have a tstorm passing through right now.I have my tripod set up...and the lightning seems to have moved on before I could get a shot...:o(

Great shot, Cindi! I've never gotten a lightning photo, but perhaps the fact that we hardly ever have lightning in So Cal has something to do with it... :-) Now, how did you shoot this with 1/125s? I thought the way to get lightning shots (when it's dark enough outside) was to simply shoot multi second exposures and hope that lightning happens during the exposure. Did you actually react to seeing the lightning bolt, and did it last long enough that you still got it on "film"?
