RAT, CAT AND DOG....FOOD CHAIN? I THINK NOT!

Fort Worth, TX

I saw these guys at lunch just walking down the street and had to stop and take a picture. Rat on cat, cat on dog. Weirdest thing I've seen in a while but the fellow who owned them was a really nice guy. He's homeless but makes sure to take good care of his little buddies. They eat better than he does. And, I helped him out a little with what little I could. I'm sure I'll be seeing him around some more! Then, after we spoke, he went along his way with his "kids". Hope they can find a nice warm place to stay the night. It is going to get really cold here tonight. A cop said he knows him and the guy is a good guy and not a drug addict or alcoholic, just down on his luck. I pray God keeps them all warm tonight!

ps. Found more about him through Scott Browne. Seems this fellow travels all over the US and what he does is to spread the word of loving each other and about peace. Uses these three to prove we can all live together in harmony if we really wanted too. The dog's name is Booger, the Cat is Kitty and the Rat's name is Mousey. Thanks, Scott for giving me more info on him. And, another guy I know said he saw him down in the Keys a few years back. Quite the traveler. He doesn't have a home but travels and finds places to stay and gets food from folks who lend him a helping hand. Very cool story.

Here's the link to the write up about him in the newpaper about a month ago, thanks to Scott!: http://www.star-telegram.com/fortworth/story/1770498.html

Hi Cindi, this is Michele. I have read about this man and his animal family a couple of times during the last few years, and seen photos, but yours is the best! Beautiful work.

Blessings to you for helping the guy out. Give him some $ from me and I'll pay you back when I see you again.

Great shot! This reminds me of an old German fairy tale called Town Musicians of Bremen:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_Musicians_of_Bremen
Scott Browne17-Dec-2009 14:34
Cool! Glad you got a shot of this. He was in town back in November and I thought he'd left. He apparently tours the country spreading a message of peace. He was supposed to be heading to Austin, but either his plans changed or he came back. Here's the story from the local paper.http://www.star-telegram.com/fortworth/story/1770498.html

a nice Christmas story! Hope it 's not too cold over there... in Paris a young man, homeless in his 30ties, died from cold yesterday....
lisamidi17-Dec-2009 09:25
Incredible shot, at first I thought it was photoshop. And a touching story too, you really should publish in the local newspaper, so maybe more people help. Thanks you for sharing! v

That image is really great!
Guest 17-Dec-2009 03:06
I think the cat is the one that looks the most musketeers, a kind of puss in boots without the boots ..... a bootless puss in boots! ..... :) Amazing
Guest 17-Dec-2009 03:03
Probably a 3 musketeers gang thing! :) Nice capture.
Gary Blanchette17-Dec-2009 02:14
All too common a story in our nation.
Cindi Smith17-Dec-2009 01:18
Yes, I did help him out a little. Who couldn't?? Hoping to see him again soon!
Guest 17-Dec-2009 00:53
Life is a balancing act.... nicely captured. Jv
CreativeWiseGal17-Dec-2009 00:42
Here's the question, though: did you tip/pay him for taking his photo? I hope so. He's a real talented guy if he can accomplish this! When we were in NYC once, we say a guy walking down the street with an adult cat sitting squarely on top of his head. A few folks took his photo but when they didn't tip him, he flipped us all the bird and walked off.
Stephanie17-Dec-2009 00:33
OMG! You have made me laugh again today! This is just plain weird!!!!
Anyway, you deserve a vote for this one Cindi!
Terri Steele17-Dec-2009 00:25
