LIVING DOWNTOWN IN A SMALL PARK

Fort Worth, TX

In this economy many of us are just a paycheck away from being homeless ourselves. This man has been living in this small park just east of my office for about 3 years. Just think before you judge someone. You don't know their story, where they came from and how they got here. In God's eyes, we are all the same, all loved and wanted. We are born, live and die. No one is immune to that. But, how we treat others while here is the most important thing. The less fortunate, the folks that have nothing....just makes you realize how blessed you are. Show compassion and a helping hand when you can. You don't know how it will touch someone and let them know that someone cares. After all, that is what it is all about, isn't it?

Like so many all over...and as in Emerson Drive's "Moments" ...you don't know their story.
Excellent shot to remind us to be thankful as well. BV!

Perfect composition and treatment here. I agree with you, I've been helped so many times during my life... by stangers, by coworkers. I too, want to known as the person who is kind and positiive. What you sow... you reap. Voted.

You've captured him well in this stiking photo. I'm left wondering more about him.

Great shot Cindi.

I'm glad you took a photo of him. You will be, too, someday. We had a man in my town who wondered the streets wearing Army fatigues and carrying a bag and cane. He'd sit on the benches all around downtown everyday. Everyone called him Sarge. I'd wanted to get his photo but never did. When he died, they published his story in the paper and it was so sweet and interesting.

You really captured the misery of it all.
