DETERIORATION OF MINDS

Fort Worth, TX

It sickens me when I find things such as this. This graffiti shows that ugliness has invaded our youth. When painted on this underpass, they probably thought it was funny but I find it sick. When I was young, we would never have thought to deface property with these kinds of horrible symbols. What is happening to our youth? I know, there are good kids out there but everyday we hear of another gang killing, another rape, and other acts of violence in which our youth are becoming more and more involved. What happened to society? Glorification of immorality and no values is on the rise. We've turned away anything good and have turned our back on God. What is to become of us? Can we each try to do our part to make this a better place to live? Or are we destined for destruction?

I tend to agree with Papajim, Cindi. These people are just misguided morons. There will always be some around. Your image is a very strong one. Vote

Powerful image. The underbelly of society shares it's views under cover of darkness, a most cowardly act.

Not a nice site is it...We have the same problem here in Canada..Makes you wonder what today's youth is really thinging..

It's a world wide epidemic I'm afraid...borne of a lack of respect and from ignorance. I know there are good people out there too - and as long as there is good there is always hope!

A very stong image and message Cindi.
It does sicken me to know of all the evil running amuk in our world today.
Too many people do not have God in their lives...do not have Love in their world.

Excelent angle and b&w treatment for this shot, Cindi. Strong and impressive.
Sad, even in Poland, country that suffered this horrible time and should remember and teach children what it meant, even here I can see this symbol painted on walls sometimes. It makes me sick too.
And some people say (to excuse those stupid kids) that it is an ancient motif to have first been used in Neolithic India and known in ancient history in Europe as well. Yes, but not after the WW II.

I guess they don't really know what this means...

I don't understand why people do stuff like this either, and I have no answer for it. I do try to focus on the good people but like someone said, the media show more of the bad than the good. Maybe we can start a campaign to ask the media to report an equal number of good stories as they do bad ones?

Like you, I hate finding this stuff. I don't have any answers, however.

Sadly, I think we are destined for destruction. But then, I'm a cynic.

Mankind has been screwed up since the beginning, there is just better technology to report it now.
I like your angle here...tilting your head in disbelief.

Morons, simple as that.

Well seen Cindi. It's amazing how things like this never leave society! Definate decay! ~V

A generation neglecting their understanding of history tragically doomed to repeat the mistakes :-(

I absolutely blame the media and the entertainment industry for a lot of our children's problems. It makes me so sad and almost physically ill to see things like this.

Well captured shot Cindi! The B/W treatment works well. Sadly enough, all societies have their share of those that don't do constructive things with their time and/or can be influenced easily. With any hope those responsible won't truly go through life believing this 'stuff'. Jv

We can start by blaming the "free speech" of the media and the entertainment industry who have made fortunes off of this kind of thing.
