This is a private game reserve belonging to my brother-in-law Dr Noel Joughin. Situated in a remote area of the Witteberge (white mountains) of the scenic Eastern Free State of South Africa, this is a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy world to the tranquillity of no phones, no electricity and no traffic! Three rhinos, an angry ostrich, various families of warthog and a proliferation of buck, black wildebeest (gnus) and zebra roam the farm. The Sandstone mountains offer breathtaking views to the nearby Malutis in Lesotho and the deep valleys with towering sandstone cliffs, some hidden caves with bushman paintings and seasonal wildflowers make hiking a wonderful, envigorating pastime.
