The family Amphizoidae consists of one genus with only six species world wide. Three of the species are North American, and three are Asiatic (China)in distribution. The three North American species are all found in the Rocky Mountains from Alaska to California, and are found in streams crawling on rocks or debris and hiding under embankments.
