Panoche Valley - Designated a Globally Important Bird Area and identified as a core recovery area for endangered species such as Kit Fox, Blunt-nosed Leopard Lizard & Giant Kangaroo Rat, Panoche Valley was first noticed as a prime birding destination by Carolyn Fredrickson and my friend Steve Allison.

Sadly, Panoche Valley is now approved as the site for the development of the largest solar power plant in North America. If the power plant comes to be, say farewell to the images on this website. Friends of Panoche Valley & Santa Clara Valley Audubon are attempting to gather the funds to fight the legal battle to halt Solargen's development and protect this critical habitat.
