West Indian Whistling Duck

Dendrocygna arborea

Although globally threatened, West Indian Whistling Duck is currently proving easy to see on Cayo Coco around at least two of the hotels, where they even perch on the roof of the accommodations. Three other species of whistling ducks have been recorded on Cuba, although the usually common White-faced Whistling Duck is only a vagrant to the archipelago.
