Saffron Finch

Male

Sicalis flaveola

Caseara, Tocantins

Surprisingly, Saffron Finch is rarely mapped for the Araguaia Valley, e.g. in Ridgely & Tudor (2009), but in fact it is not uncommon there. Note the orange extending over more or less the entire crown, unlike Orange-fronted Yellow Finch, and the yellowish lores.
