Hooded beauty

Mont Orgueil Castle, Jersey

Her father shot the video of the re-enactment of life at the Castle during todays re-opening ceremony. I got a few shots of her, and her light blue eyes just mesmerized me. I guess that I just have a weakness for light eyes... hence another picture of a light eyed beauty.

Love this B&W image. An enchanting but also mysterious look. Wonderfully captured. V

Great eye of her and you.... (V)
the lightplay in this picture is great too....

This is again, sublime. I must ask, was this an image 'as captured', or did you instruct the model to adopt this pose?

I like this shot a lot. It looks like everything came together on this. Well done. v.

No wonder this portrait is so popular, you masterly used light to emphasize that look into nowhere, that almost transparent eye, the deepness of it, an element of mystery in composition.
Great one, Kees!

Kees, this is a wonderful shot but what's impressive from a technical standpoint is retaining sharpness throughout the field: the hand is as sharp as the eye, and this is where most people would fall down. I assume a small aperture was used?

Thanks Teresa! I like it too but it really is far from perfect. ;¬)

Instantly this reminds me of one of the landmark images that appeared in National Geographic once. This is an instant classic and I'm voting in hope that this will rocket up the popular photos list if for no other reason than the fact that others will get to see it. With all the post processing we occasionally subject our work too this is in my opinion is a perfect image of balance. Just enough of everything in terms of lighting, exposure, contrast, composition and then an wound together with a stunningly beautiful subject and perfect execution. Wish I could vote more than once.
