A head-on view of the Devourer. Note that it was four wing surfaces. In terms of design it makes a lot of sense since the side mounted engines can be mostly protected by huge armoured sheets of armaplas (in reality the wings have little aerodynamic lift) or alternatively they are used to ensure that during a failed landing (crash) the ship does not turn and roll.
