This is little Gracie.
It was back on April 9th that i got a call asking if i could quickly come get her and deliver her out of state to a rescue org. I was almost "there" and little Gracie had decided she couldn't wait any longer and she popped out of the top of the box.
Gracie was the little toothless starving tortie Persian who came from Chicago AC with a recently mostly amputated tail. The left over tail stump had become badly infected and was needing immediate attention. It was amputated the following day. We at first thought that she was an "ancient discarded pet' but upon further examination the Vet estimated that she was probably still a young cat that had a horrible start in life.
She was a really nice cat to foster and the person who adopted her is a single woman who was literally TERRIFIED to have a cat with claws (which Gracie did). She took the leap of faith and apparently it has worked out well.
Weeks later i received this e-mail on July 29th from Kirsten. Its an update on Gracie from the women that had adopted her back in mid April.
"Gracie is a total sweetheart. She still doesn't like
the nail trim, but she has not scratched me once even I
tried to trim to nails. She hasn't scratched my
furniture either. Her hair is getting longer and she
is really really cute. I will send a link to you to
view her latest pictures."
This evening i received these recent pics of Gracie in her new home.
Sure looks like this "one" is safe and well after being so close to being lost.
