Coordination

Description:    Matched pair of double switch plates with perimeter design taken from the ivy pattern of the wall paper at the carver's home. Also see "COORDINATION 2".
Wood:Vermilion (Padouk or Padauk) - Africa
Finish:"Flecto" Varathane Liquid Plastic, 91 Clear Satin.
Size:Each Approximately 6" H x 6" W x ¾" D.
Notes:One quadrant of these square switch plates was designed by selecting from remnants of the dining room wall paper specific leaves which fit the available space, arranging them in a vine-like pattern, and tracing them to a drawing of the switch plate using a light table. After completing the quadrant design, it was transferred to all four quadrants of second drawing of the switch plate (again using the light table). Photocopies of the completed drawing were made, two prints were cut out and taped to the prepared wood pieces, and the pattern was traced to the wood using carbon paper and a red ball point pen (to insure that all of the design was reproduced).

other sizes: small medium large original auto
