Hi Ted. Certainly a great location for taking group photos..... and considering the sun you did well to control the exposure and get good large dof detail in the background sky. But here is a little tip that I learned over the years, from doing wedding photography: Adjust the angle of your group just enough so that the sun does not cause your subjects to squint or have the need for sun glasses. Then using high speed sync on canon Speedlite flashes, shoot slightly upward to assuage the nasty shadows which prevent you from capturing the whites of the eyes.
