HUGO KAAGMAN
The work of Hugo Kaagman is oriented toward the heritage of his own country. His starting point is the history of Delft porcelain, which represents, in his words, ‘Dutch tribal art’. His work in the Harderwijkerstraat, in the former house of a fish vendor, displays stereotypical images from Dutch culture in refreshing new combinations. Windmills, traditional costumes, façades and tulips are shown next to portraits of Willy Alberti and Tante Leen (singers) and comic-strip characters.
This project is a donation from the Municipality of Enkhuizen to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the Museum in 2008.
