Sandhill cranes are often seen at Bosque del Apache in groups of 3 consisting of mom, pop and colt. Sometimes,
there will be four if both eggs survive. Pairs are often new mates without offspring or those who lost both eggs.
Singles either haven't yet mated or have lost their mates. Sandhills mate for life and can live 20 years.
