Came across your site looking for more info about the B-17, Eager Beaver. This sounds like the one my Dad (Buck Caruthers) flew missions in out of North Africa. Nice tribute to your Dad.

Nice tribute, Tom. Your father was shot down at a tough time in the war for all airmen. My father was shot down and imprisoned about the same time (Oct. 4, 1943). He once said that the real heroes were the ones who didn't come back. Your father was one of the heroes. May he rest in peace.
