Message from Tim Cote
Hello, my name is Tim Cote' and I am the owner of the Diecast Pub a very busy interactive collectors community for diecast collectibles.

In March of 2006 I purchased my first Digital DSLR, a Pentax DL with kit lense. Since that time I have added a 1.4 50mm prime, DA 50-200mm, 28mm prime and also a Sigma 70-300 DL just to play with. My next purchase will be a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 Macro that will be used as my primary lense. Most of my diecast photos have been taken with the kit lense which I feel does a respectible job but lacks the real punch I hope to get from the Sigma.

What's my favorite photo? I would have to say it's of my 11 year old daughter Madison. The one featured here in my profile page. It's my first real attempt at doing a portrait which I think came out ok.

Update: Since my original Profile was written I have made quite a few changes in my camera gear. I have now upgraded to a Pentax K-100 digital SLR purchased a Sigma 17-70, sold my 1.4 50mm lens (Needed the money to purchase the new camera) and also aquired a Tamron 1.4 teleconverter. My original plans called to purchase the Sigma 18-50 2.8 Macro but the camera shop where I do business ordered the wrong lens and I guess you could say I fell in love with how well the 17-70 performs on the K-100. I also aquired a Promaster 100mm Macro Lens that does such a wonderful job I have a hard time believing I paid so little for this lens. Less than $100.00.

November 22, 2008 Just purchased a new K20D Pentax, Man what a camera. I have a hard time understanding where so many negative reviews come from for Pentax gear. I really had considered switching to Canon but the lack of built in shake reduction and the cost of quality glass turned me off.
