Pere Lachaise cemetery, opened in 1804, is now like a small city with tens of thousands of burials. It is divided into many sections and is crisscrossed by roads and winding paths. It is the burial place of many famous and influential Parisians. Photos taken with a Canon Powershot Pro 90, most with a tripod on a cool and gloomy day in late May 2002.
I am fascinated by cemeteries and this is one of the best. I too have many photos of Pere Lachaise taken on All Saint's Day of 2007, and will go back each time I am fortunate enough to visit Paris.
