CHALLENGE 25 - Passion

One of the tenets of good photography is to know your subject, keep it simple, shoot closer.
If you are passionate about something, it should be easy for you to go out and grab that image, show the world.

I will ask you to shoot something that you are passionate about, something that really moves you.
Could be anything at all, but choose well.
Many of you have already selected, I think...

Regular rules apply - shoot between May 28 and June 6th
Three shots per person
Post no later than one minute past midnight, June 7th

I am going to go with #2 for the attention to detail. Great photos, votes are spread out all over - fantastic.

#3 gets my vote. I really like the detail, shape and focus. It brings me peace.

#4 would have got my vote but something about it... Maybe underexposed and the brightness pulled too hard in photoshop?

Difficult choice this week, but I will vote for number 1. An appropriate image with an interesting subject, great centre of focus, and colours. It really draws me in.

I liked numbers 1 and 9 for very different reasons. 1 for the close up, contrast of colours, textures and depth of field. 9 for the panning, sence of speed and movement. Good pictures Thanks - Steve

Hard decision, each photo has character!!
So much, that I am going to base my vote on technique only. I'm going to have to say #9 gets my vote. This is an excellent panning shot. Perfect stop and excellent lighting. Great catch of a great classic. BRAVO! ....Linda M

I will go first. Again a very good batch.
Everyone has a different perspective on things.
I will vote for #9. A lot of folks are passionate about cars.

This shot has much going for it; subject is in focus, rest is blurry to highlight the subject; colour is crisp, a bit of a diagonal going down left to right, use of the rule of thirds; road and sky are split about half and half, and picture sharpened. Well done.

I liked the flowers too, just a tad too centered. The kid shots were a lot of fun, with stories in them.
The guy jumping off the rock is great too; the viewer is also left hanging, wondering if the landing will succeed.

The city with miniature effect is well done. We will discuss that one again in one of our future sessions.
