Challenge 22 - Let the Sunshine In

After taking pictures in the dark - Let's go out and take Daylight Pictures!

PLEASE NOTE: BE CAREFUL TAKING PICTURES OF THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT - IF YOU DO THEN DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN IN YOU’RE YOUR VIEW FINDER.

I vote for Number 1. I think of sunlight as warming and this is the only one that gives me a feeling of warmth. They are all excellent photos but only this one communicates "warm" to me.

I hesitated between #1 and #8. I vote for #8 because it shows letting the light (if not the sunshine) in. I aree with Bob on the Alex Colville air.

Tough choice again. I love the shading and sharpness in #7 so it gets my vote. I'm drawn into this one the most. I want to walk through that door and feel the warmth of the sun hit my skin.

I vote for Numero Uno (1)...nothing like a sunbath to refresh one's energy! We should all have them once in a while...same goes for "catnaps"! My second vote goes to # 8.

I will also vote for number 8. That picture almost has an Alex Coleville quality, great detail and tenderness in the narrative. The only improvement I would have suggested is in the outside detail in the window, and maybe improve sharpness a bit. All told a great picture still. No. 3 is interesting, but a very hard thing to do to shoot straight at the sun; The camera's work causes the picture to look like it was shot at night. No. 2 would could have been de-saturated a bit, and increased contrast to highlight the hand, an interesting concept. I also liked no. 5, but the flower is a little too centered for my usual preferences; that said, you almost need to centre the shot to get this sun behind the flower, no other way possible, except to shoot wider and crop afterwards; great technique here. I also like the cat; makes me want to nap for a while. Another great crop this week. Bob B. Oh, and the silhouette of the kid on the car is fun too.

For me #8 has a story behind this photo - it is the picture that touches me most. (Black & white would look really good) I vote for this one. I would of loved to post the pictures I have taken but did'nt have the time last night. This was a difficult challenge and I’m happy to see what everyone came up with!

Number 1 gets my vote. A perfect picture depicting the joy of the morning sunshine on one's face (be it animal or otherwise!) ..... Thanks for sharing all, great pictures.
