CHALLENGE #16 - Man-made Landscapes

This challenge is inspired by Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky. He likes to photograph landscapes that have been altered by man in some remarkable way.

Challenge: Try to capture a landscape that has been altered by humans in some interesting way (positive or negative)

Pictures taken between Jan 21 - Jan 31 will be eligible for voting.
Voting will be from Feb 2 - 4.

You can submit up to 3 photos.

My vote is #2 but I like #4 and #6 as well

I will agree that #2 really captures the spirit of the challenge. I also appreciate that this photo was taken in the dates set out for the challenge; man-made structures and nature flow in one simple scene. There were many very good pictures submitted. Congrats to all who participated.

It is interesting to note that studying other photographers help us to see the world in a different way. Even though it might not be our cup of tea, it may help us to find our own muse eventually.

I vote for # 2 as I really thought it was part of the hill, but with a closer look noticed the making of it. Very good shot. I also enjoyed # 13. Thanks for sharing.

Seems like an endless stretch of towers. I feel this relates to Burtynsky's interest in the concept of large-scale frameworks.

I would have to pick #2, it's an interesting shot and beautiful despite the tradgedy of what it actually is.

I vote for #2 and #11 in second place. #6 is is good but I feel that it could have been a very interestig shot if it was taken from a higher angle . (but I understand that the environment probably did'nt provide that)

I vote #2. Not only is the landscape very impressive looking, I think the angle is very well captured and even at the furthest distance you can still see the details. Plus it looks nicely silouetted against the hill. Cool pic.
