The married women wear heavy iron rings around their necks. This woman has an additional necklace wrapped with leather with a torque which signifies that she is the "first wife." If she has two additional plain rings, this means there are two other wives. Being the first wife means more stature within the tribe. These necklaces are worn for life and never removed. The women also wear an abundance of beads, bracelets and animal skins decorated with cowry shells.
