The day before the actual fire is lit, robed priests carrying colorful umbrellas and beautiful crosses from the various churches chant and march in formations. A priest on a loud speaker teaches the gospel from the Bible and Book of Miracles. This goes on for hours. Thousands of people gather to watch. A huge bonfire is built and decorated with daisies.
