House

Digging out from an intense 10 day storm. We got 44 inches of snow in those 10 days and now it has warmed up to 40 degrees and heavy rain. During those 10 days we saw temps as low as -17 F. The ground is frozen so the water can not soak into the ground and all the drainage ditches are filled with snow and ice. Just south of Juneau an avalanche has taken out a power transmission line that feeds Juneau with cheap affordable power and now we will be on Diesel for a couple of months. None of this compares to the passing of my Mom last week. She has been in very poor condition over the last two months and now her pain is over. She has joined my dad. It has been a bleak winter....

Oh Ron...I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom. I will hold you in my prayers.
Yes, it certainly has been a bleak winter...odd weather patterns and situations every where this year. Keep the faith! We'll all pull through!
