All images are from our recent "Northern Peru endemics Tour" with the more than excellent Boris Herrera as our guide 21dec 2012- 20jan 2013. We managed to get 40 endemics and around 720 species on our way from Mancora in the NW to Tarapoto and the Pumarinri lodge. A great trip despite the rain that sometimes made the birding a bit harder... Especially the hunt for the Long-whiskered owlet... ;-) But! 5hours in rain and darkness (well, maybe two in darkness...) later, there it was!!! Not many endemics photographed (I think) since this was a birding trip and not a photo-expedition. I will post most of the species I got on film unless they are so bad that you can't see what it is... hahaha. The locations given will probably be the "closest town" or something like that... Got near to 40 000 pics so it will take some time... Hope you´ll enjoy them and please correct any errors from my side. This was my first trip to South America so everything was new for me and I might have a problem or two recognizing what I shot...lol.
