Ascent of G Murud 14Jul1987-19Jul87

The initial plan of this Expedition is to follow the Oxford University Expedition July 1955 and Sarawak Museum Expedition 1951. The route plan is to go from Belaga, up the Bakun Rapids to Long Murun. Then it is up the Pieran, Sg Luar and left to SG Menapa. Possibly hired Penans guide from Lg Menapa to head for Mt Kenawang and descend to Long Julan and there after Long Akah. From there, the best route to go is Bario, when one can rest and recover in cool weather. That the plan.
