The William Wrigley Foundation donated $15 million for development of this section of Millennium Park. Located in the Park's northwest corner the Wrigley Square peristyle was the first portion of the park to be completed. Designed as a replica of a colonnade located at the same spot from 1917 to 1953, this version is just under 40 feet tall and features columns made from solid limestone quarried in Indiana and France. The inner base of the peristyle features large incised plaques bearing the names of each individual and organization that donated $1 million or more to the Millennium Park development.
