MAYON VOLCANO, PHILIPPINES

This is what my hometown is proud of - the Mayon Volcano. Its the world’s most perfect cone and is considered by many people to be more beautiful than Mt. Fuji in Japan (I don't know if I gave justice to it). Her name was derived from the Bikol word “Magayon,” which literally means beautiful. Standing at 2,462 metres, Mayon is classified by volcanologists as a stratovolcano (composite volcano). Its symmetric cone was formed through alternate pyroclastic and lava flows. Mayon is the most active volcano in the country, having erupted around 50 times for the past 400 years. The last erupion was in 2004. This photo was shot at around 6:30 am on top of Lingnon hill in Daraga Town (15 minutes by walking from my home).

The picture above describe how beautiful Philippines is, and Mayon Volcano proves it. Mayon Volcano is one of the perfect cone in the world. It is one of the Philippines tourist spot, and one of the pride of Philippines at the same time.It is also the reason why some tourists visit our country, not only Mayon Volcano as well as the some tourist spot like Boracay, Tinuy-an Falls and Many other more but for me, Mayon Volcano is the best gift that God given to us Filipino. We are lucky Filipinos that we had this kind of gift given by God. So, as a return to God, we must take care of it, treasure of it, not only the MAyon Volcano but also all the gift that God had given to us. This is GEMARIE EDUSMA from class uba prod to be FILIPINO.

Hi, TOM!! This is Ken who lived in Romblon before. Are you from Daraga? Is that your hometown? If it is so, I have to express my sympathy to the disaster caused by the typhoon. First of all, I hope you are still in Japan. Then I also hope that your irreplaceable family, friends and relatives are all safe from that.

I love your this picture, very beautiful. But also an active volcano is so dangerous as much as its beauty... I hope the people in the area can recover peaceful life as early as possible...

Lovely composition, although it would make me nervous to live so close to it. Gets my vote.
