Two northern California cities with a strong left-leaning feel. Rush Limbaugh would have a miniscule audience here. Bead shops, herb shops (Gee, I wonder what 'herb' is in favor here...), crepe stands, and lots of hitchhiking travellers are some of the sights. This is a beautiful area of California regardless of your political alignment, however, and there are numerous excellent eateries and places to stay the night.
