NGC 6523, M 8 or the Lagoon Nebula in Ha.

Cootamundra, NSW.

The large Diffuse Nebula, M 8, NGC 6523, NGC 6526, IC 1271, Sh 2-28 or LBN 25 is situated in the constellation of Sagittarius and is a bright, conspicuous nebula shining at magnitude 5.0 and is some 17.00' by 15.00' arc minutes in size.

Taken using a Takahashi Sky-90 fitted with a Takahashi Reduce and operating at f/4.5. Taken using the SBIG ST2000XM in the light of Hydrogen Alpha (Ha).

15 x 5 minutes @ -25c, Astronomiks 12Nm Ha filter. full exif
