Guiling Guangxi (Oct 2011 National Holiday)

We always hope to bring Aaron close to nature. When we came back from Hong Kong, we were on the road to Guiling.

Day 1: After arriving Guiling on morning by train, the bus of Jingmeige hotel picked us to Longji Rice Terrace. In Chinese, "Longji" means dragon's bone. The most popular are Ping An Rice Terrace and Jinkeng Rice Terrace. The weather was raining when we prepared to walk to the hotel. Roads are muddy, bumping and hard to walk. We hired two local porters, one to carry the luggage, another to carry Aaron to hotel. Actually, Aaron was very happy when he was in the basket carried on the porter's back. Arrived at hotel, we were suprised that we lived in this hotel 6 years before when we first came here with friends, but we forgot the name of hotel and it was very interested when I booked the hotel I didn't know about this.

Day 2: It was a cloudy day on the morning. We walked to West mountain Shaole of Jinkeng (Dazhai village), where the great rice terrace pictures came into our eyes. It was a little sorry with no sunny day, but we were already satisfied of seeing the golden autumn rice terrace.

Day 3: The boss of hotel told me the best time to shoot the terrace is the end of May every year, as the rice terrace will full of water. We'd really like to come again in the most beautiful season. After breakfast, we took the morning bus to Yangshuo directly from Longji terrace, and arrived around 1 PM. We tasted Sanjie Xie beer fish at the old restaurant, which we came every time.

Day 4: We took a boat upstream to Yangdi, about 4 hours on the boat, to cruise the best part of Li River. Then back to Yangshuo by bus, about 1 hour. After few time to rest, we visited Impression Sanjie Liu which started at 7:45pm, finished at 8:45pm.

Day5: In the morning, we had a wonderful rest. In the afternoon, we took two bicycles, cycled to Gongnong Bridge to see the sunset. After bike ride, we tasted Dashifu beer fish, which was recommended by one of program of CCTV. It was really good.

Day6: We brought Aaron to Yangshuo Park to play, then had lunch at a pure vegetable restaurant which was recommended by lonely planet. This restaurant was really worth recommending. After back to Guilin by bus, we took the train to Hunan to visit my grandfather's hometown.
