WAC Tournament 2007, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Another year, another bunch of disappointing losses in the first round. New Mexico wasn't as bad as Tulsa, but its no Reno either.

I honestly feel that Las Cruces gets the unfortunate honor of being the worst place to hold the WAC basketball tournament ever. Las Cruces does not even have an international airport and has to rely on using the airport in El Paso, Texas to even land close to there. Then visitors have to travel for more miles on the road just to get to Las Cruces! A good question to the WAC Board of Directors is why the hell did they choose to have a city that does not even have an airport for vistors to land in as a city to host the WAC basketball tournament?! I don't buy the crap the previous tournament there was a "success" because from talking to other WAC fans they feel the same way about Las Cruces hosting the tournament. The Nevada Sagebrush even has written an article about how Las Cruces should not be host. Let's face it, Las Cruces is not a popular tourist destination either as the Nevada Sagebrush also wrote. The WAC needs to find better places to host the tournament, perhaps Fresno or Boise. But not in a city without an airport!!!!!!! I feel the WAC Board of Directos will learn from this mistake!
