2nd Day - Lacquerware

The Noto area is also known for their lacquerware. We took a tour of the Soba-chef's other job, doing lacquer painting. Its a time consuming practice of fine, detailed work.

His wife showed us her workshop where she mounts paperwork to be framed. They also do the shoji-screen door paperwork as well.
