This view,from Tawney Common,overlooks a valley which most viewers and residents would not associate with the Roding Valley,yet the stream(nameless) which trickles through,drains into the River Roding.In the upper right of the image,the dark forest is Epping Forest;the scattering of housing in that area,is Theydon Bois.The large,roughly circular area in the middle distance is the abortive golf course,held up by the burying of chemical waste.
The dark horizontal line in the middle distance is the M25.
