Hoddom Castle,in the shadow of Burnswark

Hoddom,Dumfriesshire,Scotland

Hoddom Castle,is nestled bottom left,in shot.
Burnswark,is the highest hill in the image. It was topped with an iron age hillfort. The Romans used it for seige practice, then, when they departed, the people of this area,re-occupied it in the 5th. century AD.NB:The one thing they have in common is, both castle and hillfort, now lie empty.
