Railings, with York Minster behind

City Walls,York,England

I first took this shot after delivering a package to a firm in York.I had 20 minutes or so to spare,so I parked my motorcycle,by the river and camera in hand, walked up onto the city walls to get the shot. That was in October 2005,but whilst the idea was good, the sky was very dull and cloudy,so,upon my return to York,in summer 2006,my first task was to redeem the shot, which you see now.I like this one very much.

I love the rusty reds in the railings and the architectural interest the curvarure of the rail adds to the frame.
I take the point you made about my somewhat clumsy effort to acheive a similar effect.
Thank you for the advice Ian.

Very good Ian - agree the use of the railings as a lead-in helps.

Wonderful. The composition and the colours are beautiful.

I really like the way you have composed this image. The sharpness of the railings and the blurred minster really works well in this composition,Ian...V!!

Nice repeating pattern that mimicks the church roof spires. Well done. Voted.
