Megaliths

Collier Row,Essex view map

0.6ND Grad,hand held
Part of a group of 5 stones erected on a small roundabout,at junction of Collier Row Road and Hog Hill Road.
The erection of these stones throughout the borough,I find quite bizarre,as there is no rock, other than chalk, anywhere in Essex.
NB:It seems that the Local Council bought a job lot of boulders,as they've appeared all over the Borough on formerly ,open spaces, mostly roundabouts.

Perfect lighting to create a mysterious, awe-filled mood. It's amazing how much time it seems our ancestors spent dragging enormous chunks of rock for hundreds of miles. Of course, the lack of cell phones and email probably freed up a lot of time...

Nice shot with good lighting! I like the shadows projected in this shot.
